Local Clubs and Fisheries

Below are details of a variety of Angling clubs and fisheries located within Nottinghamshire;

Goosedale Fisheries
Located just outside Bestwood Village, the fishery consists of two mixed coarse fishing lakes offering everything an angler could want, from quality rudd, roach and skimmer fishing to the chance of landing one of the many specimen sized carp in the Greylag Specimen Lake.

Worksop & District Angling Association
The association are one of only three angling clubs in the east midlands to be awarded Clubmark. The club regularly run high quality coaching sessions to introduce more young people to angling and help those more experienced anglers progress. The club is a brilliant starting point for anyone looking to get into angling or anyone wishing to access some excellent stillwater and running water fishing. Nottingham Piscatorial Society
The society is home to some the premier fishing in the county. With access to 14 miles of the River Trent, plus 6 lakes including a trout fishery there really is something for everyone. The Society also operate two day ticket stretches of the River at Rolleston and Fiskerton. Brierley Park Angling Club
A new Angling club has recently been established in Huthwaite, Sutton-In-Ashfield. The club manage the fishing at the parks pond. The pond is undergoing a vast redevelopment, including the installation of new pegs and a restocking programme. For more information on the club contact Steve Savage at

ACEE Project
The project oversee the management of the pond at Vernon Park, Basford. Fishing is still completely free and with secure wooden platforms in place is a great place to wet a line if you are on a tight budget. The pond contains a variety of species including roach, bream, tench and quality chub.

CAST Angling Project
Although the project do not currently have access to water so to speak. The project is heavily involved in the promotion of angling within Nottinghamshire. The group run regular community coaching sessions and are also involved in the delivery of the Introduction to Angling and the Environment NOCN. More recently the group have been successful in a bid to secure over 220 acres of land at the former Annesley Pit Tip site. the site is well on the way to being transformed into a three lake coarse fishery with an onsite Education centre and additional wetlands fro wildlife. Shirebrook Angling Club
Located right on the border of Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, the club offers fishing on the towns pond, which offers brilliant fishing for all coarse species. In addition the club run regular coach evenings and days throughout the year, ran by fully qualified and licenced coaches. New members are always welcome, with the club offering the perfect introduction to angling for young people.
